The theme for March 2023 PMS Yarn Club celebrates the beauty and delight of Japan! The yarn bases: Silky DK (100 grams/231 yards; 70% superwash merino/30% silk) Silky Sport (100 grams/328 yards; 50% superwash merino/50% silk) The Colorways: Maiko San (shown on Silky DK) A playful, but not too bright, hand was used in selecting colors that an apprentice Geisha, might wear. Spring and Fall seasons are represented. Japan Blue (shown on Silky sport) A medium-light turquoise with speckles and streaks of navy, to represent the beautiful indigo blue of Japanese cotton fabric. The Gifts: Handmade Indigo Shibori Tote - the art of Shibori, or Japanese tie-dye, indigo dyed and hand sewn by Melissa of Soulful Home Design Kokeshi Doll Ring Stitch Marker by MouseGarden. A new collaboration with designer Chic and Regal Knits! A portion of the proceeds from this kit will be donated to animal rescue. This might just be the most relaxing, easiest take-a-long pattern you’ve ever encountered—and you will go to it again and again! There is no stitch count to think about, and the measurements are taken with your eyes (or a tape measure, if you feel inclined)! Once you get a rhythm going, you’ve totally got this, to the point where you can take it places that you can’t even take your phone—just be sure to check back in with your pattern when you’re ready for the edge and the bind-off. It works best to show off variegated, speckled and multi-colored yarn, but it works across the board! Also, it’s adaptable! You can also add a third skein of worsted if you wish, or try it out with other yarn weights. Just like the savory salsa it's named for, it's sure to be the perfect finishing touch for any fun outfit! Final shawl measurement is 14" wide by 78" long. Kit contains pattern hardcopy and Garage Dyeworks Auto Worsted, (100 grams/210 yards) 2 skeins. Please allow 1-2 weeks for hand-dyeing and delivery. Yarn winding is available upon request. Chic & Regal Knits donates 25% of all pattern sales to animal rescue each month, but for January, she is donating to No Kid Hungry to help support the increasingly great need to help alleviate child hunger while school is sporadically in and out of session this winter. We are joining her to donate $2 from each shawl kit to the cause for the month of January as well.

In keeping with Helaina's tradition of donating a percentage of her pattern sales to animal rescue, $1 from each kit sold will go to benefit small animals in need.
